[Feature Suggestion] Beta Software Banner #3476

I'm curious, but does any of you actually use Nylas Mail? Ever since support has "forced" me to downgrade from N1 (due to unresolved connectivity issues), I'm stuck with a completely unusable mail client. It doesn't sync properly, throws error messages like there's no tomorrow and since the last upgrade, even deleting an email takes 1-2 seconds. So, aside from all the features that have been taken from us (PGP?), even the basics don't work anymore.

I'd therefore like to suggest that we add a large "Beta Software" banner.

  1. The banner should be positioned in the most annoying way possible
  2. It should be theme-able but never invisible (can't be hidden by css)
  3. The only way to remove it, would be to fork Nylas Mail (see Clearbit issue)
  4. It should link to the Product Roadmap

I love you guys but never have I been so disappointed by failing updates, lack of responses and worst of all, that nobody appears to have any idea, when what will happen. The only thing I can see is, that Nylas Mail moves further and further down on your website and all the people I promised a better mail client, are either stuck troubleshooting, or have since switched back to Outlook or the likes... Let's ignore all the privacy issues for now... Thanks Nylas.

1st Update: It's been around 6 weeks (April 6th), since N1 broke down completely and support advised me to use Nylas Mail instead. Unfortunately Nylas Mail is unusable and crucial issues have yet to be fixed.

Why do you guys make me use and pay for an email client (N1), then abruptly dump it, and ask me to migrate to another email client (Nylas Mail), which reportedly doesn't work?

I'm starting to doubt Nylas commitment towards their email client. The last update has been published on April 28 and yet, almost all reported issues remain, leaving most of us with a broken client.

Thanks Nylas.
