"Several of your accounts are having issues" #3541

Version: Nylas Mail Basic Platform: GNU/Linux, Mint 18.1

Bug? Yes!

The client consistently displays the following error message over red background, even though the account setting view does not show any of the accounts experiencing any problems:

"Several of your accounts are having issues. [Check Again] [Manage]"

Plus, every few days I get an error message that tells me that my Nylas account setting are "invalid", and I am prompted to sign out and sign again. I can usually sign in again with the same set of ID and password, but the issue reoccurs in a couple of days!

Quite honestly, so far Nylas has been less of an asset and more of a constant liability.

Try to provide an example as a file attachment or a screenshot.

Are there any related issues?

No.

What operating system are you using?

GNU/Linux, Mint 18.1

What version of Nylas Mail are you using?

Nylas Mail Basic

--

Do you have any third-party plugins installed? If so, which ones?

None.

Is the issue related to a specific email provider (Gmail, Exchange, etc.)?

Mostly Gmail. But often attested with outlook.com (connected via IMAP)

Is the issue reproducible with a particular attachment, message, signature, etc?

No.

Feature Request? FIX THE APP!!! Not asking for much, but at least it should be able to handle basic IMAP connections without "authentication errors" every other day.

Also, a dedicated REFRESH/GET NEW MAIL button would be nice.

Does this feature exist in another mail client or tool you use?

Yes. Reliability (and the new mail button) is the hallmark of Thunderbird, Claws, Evolution and Geary. The only other email app that has this much bugs is MS Outlook! And that's saying something.

Having the exact same issues here. Im on arch linux using the build from the AUR: nylas-mail-bin 2.0.32. Since nylas-mail i havent been able to get a stable experience whatsoever. I even have a nylas 1 premium subscription because i love the app.

Thankfully, I have not wasted money on this app. I was using the free version, and in the week or so that I was plagued by its existence in my computer it was always a liability and never an asset.

I have been a mozilla guy since I got on the internet. And I have been on the internet since 1998. Thunderbird was the King, and this experience has taught me that the "king" may be old, but an old "king" is still royalty! I installed Thunderbird back, and purged every existence of this crappy pile of code from my computer, and now I get my mails regularly and on time. Sure, thunderbird is no longer a priority for Mozilla... and sure, the common code base for thunderbird and firefox means very little today... but at least I don't have to babysit thunderbird throughout the day!

Having that Nylas/N1 crap on my computer was like leaving a psychotic dog home-alone! You never know what kinda mess you're gonna find when you come back.

I have the same problems on macOS Sierra 10.12.3 with Nylas 1.5.0 for all of my accounts... when I reconfigure, I can't get emails actualisation and the same problems re-appears [Check Again/Manage] just after 5sec...

Edit the 28 june: it working back.
