Compose Button Not Working (Windows 10) #3620

emm3ttarmstrong commented 6 years ago

My issue is that the "Compose New Message" icon in the upper left of the main Nylas window sometimes does not trigger a composer window to open. I have 10 Gmail and Google Apps accounts linked, and this issue applies to all of them.

The only way I can solve this is to completely close Nylas and reopen. Sometimes that doesn't even fix the problem. Sometimes it also is resolved by waiting a few minutes and trying again.

Are there any related issues?

This issue is close, but not exactly what I'm experiencing. https://github.com/nylas/nylas-mail/issues/2696

What operating system are you using?

Windows 10 Home Insider Preview, Build 16232.rs_prerelease.170624-1334

What version of Nylas Mail are you using?

Nylas N1 V 2.0.32

Bug?

Do you have any third-party plugins installed? If so, which ones?

No third party plugins, and I've disabled Emoji Picker and Translation.

Is the issue related to a specific email provider (Gmail, Exchange, etc.)?

No, this is independant of providers and has to do with the Nylas Client.

Is the issue reproducible with a particular attachment, message, signature, etc?

I have not been able to identify any causes or patterns of this glitch.

UPDATE: I just found out that the composer windows are opening in the background as a completely blank popup with a title bar ("Nylas Mail") and window controls, but nothing else. These windows are accessible by selecting the hamburger navigation menu in the upper right of the main app, and navigating to the Window selection sub-menu.

Soon after I select these composer windows from the hamburger menu, I get a windows error that says "Nylas Mail is not responding: Would you like to force close it or keep waiting?" Keep Waiting has no effect, Force Close causes the composer window to close and returns me to the main app.

UPDATE: I've noticed something else about this bug: I never have an issue during the first button click after computer startup. I can successfully open a composer window from the app button. However, after ONE successful compose and send, the button stops working.
