Hi @martinoj2009 — in most mail providers, your Deleted Items will be discarded after some window of time (usually 30 days). Unfortunately you can't currently trigger this deletion from N1, because it's not supported by our underlying sync-engine. I'll file a feature request with that team.
Hi @bengotow with my email providers that request is immediate as they are web based... Squirrel mail and so.. But If I´m using a client such as N1, I´d like to find a button that does something similar as in "wipe unwanted mails" even if that takes longer?..
Just wanted to chime in with a +1 for the ability to empty the spam folder with one click—it feels good to be able to nuke the junk with a single button.
A must!

+1 Mio.
+1, this is for sure confusing because every mail client (Airmail, Airmail 2, Mailbox, Postbox) all have supported clearing mail from Google trash. I could have sworn they are also capable of outlook, but I may be wrong there.

+1 I have dumped Thunderbird in favour of Nylas N1 at work because is the best thing I have seen in ages! Great job done so far people! Olé!
This is a very important request for those of us whose provider does not discard any email after some window of time. Our sysadmin team requires that users explicitly delete emails because there are users who keep emails in trash for ages and cannot risk a sort of "garbage collector".

How was this "feature" (this is not a feature btw... it's a FUNCTION!) ever left out? It's an industry standard function that EVERY SINGLE user of email has. I love this app, so far, (three hours in) but am noticing some huge flaws that should have caused the app to NEVER to leave alpha until they were addressed. Deleting the contents of a folder is one of them!
unable to empty bin, this function is so basic its almost unbelievable that its not included, makes me wonder if the developers have actually ever used email themselves.
downloaded spent an hour trying to empty bin, life is too short for this very poorly designed app
THIS IS BASICS GUYS app deleted goodbye

I'm using Ubuntu 15.10 with my Outlook.com e-mail account. I'm trying to empty my trash, however I don't see an option to do that. I try to right-click the trash bin (text and icon) but I don't get an option. I also don't see any option to delete single e-mails in the trash.
