Feature Request: Multiple Inboxes / Focused Inbox #981

Much like Gmail's multiple inbox (though I hate the Gmail interface), I like having a couple extra inboxes that are mapped to specific labels, so right below my normal inbox shows all messages with the label "to do," followed by the label, "follow up."

+1. In addition, it would be great if this was tied to not only label but account as well. Ideally some of the multiple inboxes could be unified views whereas others might be account-specific. It would be great to make the size & content of each inbox customizable so we could tile as we see fit.

It would be especially nice if they were dynamically expandable / collapsible (though not accordion, as I like to have at least two open at once.)

I'm not sure if this could be done as a plugin or needs to be implemented as a core piece, with some direction from someone comfortable with the project, I could probably have a look at an initial implementation.
