When an enemy kills/wounds your unit, you may choose which (infantry or artillery) is affected.
Thus, if I need to kill or wound a unit, I could choose a unit which was wounded in a previous round of the battle. Effectively, the wounded units become a human shield. While I like this version of the rules, I do feel this needs to be clarified in the rules.
However, I imagine you didn't want the rules to work like this, so I opened this issue first.
