Quick vote. I suggest we license the book under creative commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike CC BY-NC-SA https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/. Anyone have any objections to this / comments?

I think this is fine. How does code work? Does that go under CC also or do we keep the GPL license too?

bennahugo commented 7 years ago

Ah I see you've added a LICENSE file previously. This should have an .md / .txt extension I think. Using the GPL for a textbook is a bit odd but I guess you can sort of see it as source code.

We went with GPL on initial setup, but we should include CC. CC isn't useful for code, GPL isn't useful for content, so lets do both. Can you add CC to the license and add to the readme a statement about the licensing?

Hmm will have to give this some thought... don't think github inherently supports multi-licensed code
