Loading. how?

something in place of the element? How? Where in the cycle? Where in the flow?

What CSS styles? What markup? What scripting, if any, begat from this requirement?

Two ideas:

1) determinate:

greyed out classic dosy YO logo, filling up from the bottom with green (like liquid) bonus points if we can make the top line of the liquid wave and ripple like a real liquid

2) indeterminate:

animation from dashed thick to dashed thin border around the same classic DOSYAGO YO logo. the oscillation between border dashings should hopefully give the illusion of circulation along the border
