Remove iscsi target failed after change in wwid #785

I need to put in maintenance a iscsi target as the storage went itself to maintenance. I moved all the data to another storage (except of OVF) After the recover of the storage, the administrator rebuild an array for the ovirt installation but the wwid changed from: 3600507640082010b380000000000002a to 3600507640082010b380000000000002e

so, from the gui I:

  1. first tried to enable the "maintenance" storage -> failed
  2. detach the "maintenance" storage -> failed
  3. reconfigure the "maintenance" storage reconnecting to the target -> I can login to target but if I click th "OK" button to submit, the UI don't react and I have to click on "Cancel".

So after cancelled the operation I:

  1. go to the ovirt-node issuing from the console "iscsiadm -m node" and after seeing that I have target logon i detached from the console "iscsiadm -m node [...] --logout" and deleted the target "iscsiadm -m node [...] -o delete"
  2. retried to reconfigure the target failing again and then redelete the target from the console
  3. Then I went on the database layer of the engine where I found in the "storage_domain_static" table the wrong wwid in the "first_metadata_device" and "vg_metadata_device" so I corrected and retried without any success
  4. I analized the engine log and I intercept a "null pointer exception" when I try to "detach" the storage from the UI: 2022-12-27 10:30:49,707Z INFO This error continue again and again only waiting... as the engine think that ovirt-node4 is currently working on it.....

Can you please add details on the versions being used on engine and node side?

Sorry, I completely miss your answer. The version was the current at the time, I try to keep my installation up to date so: engine 4.5.4 and node ovirt-node-ng-4.5.4-0.20221206.0 (4.18.0-408.el8.x86_64) under Centos8
