I'm just taking it for a spin, and

Do I need to have something else installed?

Running clj -M:dev just executes all the code from the README to make sure it all works -- that's all you're seeing. If you want to try it in a separate project, here's a small one you could try:

git clone https://gist.github.com/oakes/f2c19782f9b540de4eee09712472d825 glitch
cd glitch
clj -M glitch.clj

Also here's a bigger project you could run that uses o'doyle in a web app: https://github.com/oakes/odoyle-rum-todo
