Sigil not rendering non Latin characters #2370

Sigil version: 0.7.3
OS: Windows XP service pack 3

Issue: non English characters appear as square boxes in code view.

I have ebook that has non English (Gujarati) text. Epub uses embedded fonts. In
book view the text is correctly rendered.

In code view, the non-English characters are displayed as squares.

The same ebook on one Windows 7 machine renders correctly in code view. Sigil
on Mac too shows correct rendering.

Both Windows XP and 7 Sigil have Consolas as font for code view under
preference. For extra protection, I copied the Consolas font files from Windows
7 to XP in case XP had old Consolas fonts.

It appears that Sigil uses other than font specified in the preference section
to determine what fonts to use and how to render them.

Would appreciate any hint on what to look for and how to make XP render the
same manner as Windows 7 machine.

PS: On another Windows 7 machine, same square boxes appear. It means the issue
is not between XP and Windows 7 but some configuration at Windows level.

Will be happy to include epub but Google claims that attachment storage quota
has exceeded.

We believe this problem is due to library used by Sigil. The problem does not
appear in older Sigil version (0.6.2)
