EOL or spaces added in Book View add extraneous code #2379

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. add a spare or hit "enter" for a new paragraph in Book View
2. switch to Code View
3. There will be &nbsp; and/or <span style="text-ident:0">text</span>

...

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Up to this version, entering a "space" in Book View created a &nbsp; but 
hitting space twice and then deleting one created a normal space. This trick no 
longer works.

Creating new paragraphs (pushing "enter" adds the <span> code.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.7.2 MacOS 10.8.4
