Garbled Book View screen in 0.7.4 Mac under Mavericks #2447

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.After loading an ebook in Sigil, when selecting a section to edit, the Book 
View screen is gargled or completely blank. Code View is normal with the ebook 
section contents.

Garbled/Blank section

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OSX 10.9.1

If I use the latest Windows version of Sigil, everything works correctly, 
however I do most of my work on Mac and up till now with Mavericks, Sigil 
worked properly.
