Pim, I'll raise this question with Scott. I'm not sure where we left the question of search enhancements, SEO tuning, etc.
We discussed today. Scott noted that he has an open assignment to look into ad-free Google search for non-profits. That may help address this.
Currently the search box provides full text searching of the entire set of pages. When you search on a particular spec based on acronym, the returned order seems to reflect whatever the search engine used finds relevant. This needs some tuning. Sometimes the result is some old working document of a TC or an email on the mailing list rather than the published standard. E.g. for "cppa3", the main publication page of the specification, https://www.oasis-open.org/standard/cppa-v3-0/, is only shown on page 3 of the search results. On page 1, there are hits to some old working drafts from 2015. Many visitors will never go to third page.
If tuning is not an option, then maybe we could provide options to the user to control which part of the site is to be included in the search. E.g. only search in published specifications and standards (docs.oasis-open.org), or only in news item. Or only search in items from the last X years.
