Hi,

This project is really nice. However, doesn't it violate some Microsoft patents?

oazabir commented 11 years ago

Does Microsoft hold patent on anything that I have used?

ralt commented 11 years ago

Nope. Looks like it's SurfCast that holds these patents. http://www.zdnet.com/windows-8s-halloween-surprise-metro-patent-lawsuit-7000006713/

But Microsoft also holds some relative to these interfaces in mobiles.

oazabir commented 11 years ago

Wow, how can someone parent an idea like showing multiple views as rectangular boxes! That would mean all the igoogle and widget powered websites are violation of this patent as well.

ralt commented 11 years ago

No, the violation comes from more subtle parameters. But your app, completely remaking the Metro UI in js (UI + behavior) must clearly violate some patents.

I'm not sure what I'd do though...
