[discussion] What key metrics can we define to measure progress and growth in the zk space?

Suppose we have graphs where x-axis is time (measured in years), what are the 4 most impactful y-axis to measure and visualise the growth of the zk industry?

Proposal:

• $ funding for zk companies (and/or zk research)
• proving time benchmarks for different categories to define (maybe one Rust program benchmark for all zkEVMs)
• number of active people in zk projects on GitHub

Metrics ruled out:

• academic citations (the nucleus of zk research is already significantly out of academia)
• verification time (it's already pretty succinct)
