Orbis Issue #444

Overall, the website for Orbis was very dense and included much information. Each section of the page one sees when initially loading the page was extremely detailed with much information. This can be very helpful to someone performing a research task on this topic, but can also be overwhelming to those with little background knowledge.

One thing I thought was good about the website was the Tutorial button in the corner, which explicitly stated the steps one had to follow to properly use this site. this was good because the layout of this page has many elements and would most likely be very complicated for someone who did not know anything about this site. Because it is on such a nuanced topic the menus and buttons are not self-explanatory as to what they do for the whole site, which is why I think the Tutorial button was a very beneficial feature of the site.

One thing I did not like personally about the website design was the about page in the corner, which brought up a window of many other tabs compact with information. This About page is not a normal about page one may find on a website that gives an overview of the project and what one may expect to find. Furthermore, because this page is what the user first sees when they load up the page, it may be difficult for them to find it again once the close the intro tab to see the actual website program.
