Graph templates #102

Maybe I'm dumb, but I haven't found a way to define graph templates (load, memory, cpu, etc.) and apply them to dashboards, with variables such as hostnames, etc.

thanks for your work, graph building in so painful with graphite-composer, i'm currently only using almost direct graphite api with a couple of scripts to make dashboards, but Descartes is much nicer to use (and has a very nice name for us french people :-)

I've never been a big fan of templates (e.g. Cacti) because they inevitably require the creation of some pseudo-DSL to describe them. I think it makes more sense to automate this process. Have you seen the Descartes API?

working graphite dsl's are already here (https://github.com/ripienaar/graphite-graph-dsl/wiki), but you're right on the automation part, i'll have a look a the Descartes API, this might work very well for me
