14 years ago Just had a quick look, and I think adding those would make sense:
- organellar RNA extraction: has specified input membrane-bounded organelle (http://purl.org/obo/owl/GO\#GO\_0043227 - already mireoted)
- nuclear RNA extraction: has specified input nucleus (GO:0005634, to mireot as a subclass of membrane bounded organelle) check: nuclear RNA extraction should infer under organellar RNA extraction
- cytoplasmic RNA extraction: has specified input cytoplasmic part (cytoplasmic part, Any constituent part of the cytoplasm, all of the contents of a cell excluding the plasma membrane and nucleus, but including other subcellular structures.) or has specified input GO:0005737, cytoplasm, All of the contents of a cell excluding the plasma membrane and nucleus, but including other subcellular structures.
=> I am not sure what is the difference between both terms?
- polyA RNA extraction: could take nucleotide in from chebi maybe? at minimum CHEBI:36976, A nucleotide is a nucleoside phosphate. It is composed of a nucleobase, a sugar moiety and one to three phosphate groups., may be worth having the specific ones in? We have oligonucleotide synthetizer, may be interesting to hook it in as well.
- total RNA extraction: has specified input cell?

Some RNA extraction terms were added to OBI. Details on the tracker item https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2915152&group\_id=177891&atid=886178 All the definitions and restrictions are in a file attached to the tracker item.
Now nuclear/cytoplasmic/organellar/polyA RNA extraction process and RNA extract material entities are not linked to RNA origins or structure. It should be worked out.
