Current OBI version polyacrylamide gel is asserted as a processed material. Suggest to change to: material entity is_specified_output_of some polymerization has_part acrylamide (or has grain acrylamide?)
The textual definition of polyacrylamide gel is the definition of 'agarose gel'. Suggest change to: a processed material resulting from the polymerization of acrylamide with TEMED in some buffer solution
Do we need to change textual definition of agarose gel to: a processed material resulting from the polymerization of agarose after heating agarose suspended in some buffer solution

Discussed on April 26 dev call. Definitions have been modified and committed on revision 2925

Polyacrylamide gel is classified as a material entity whereas agarose gel is a processed material. This is probably wrong. According to the definition for material entities:
"Definition: An independent continuant [snap:IndependentContinuant] that is spatially extended whose identity is independent of that of other entities and can be maintained through time. Note: Material entity [snap:MaterialEntity] subsumes object [snap:Object], fiat object part [snap:FiatObjectPart], and object aggregate [snap:ObjectAggregate], which assume a three level theory of granularity, which is inadequate for some domains, such as biology. "
by the same token, processed material "Is a material entity that is created or changed during material processing".
Shouldn't both fall straight under processed material? Both are material entities under processed material -according to the definitions given.
In addition, the definition available for "Polyacrylamide gel" is also wrong, from Bioportal:
"agarose gel is a material entity resulting from the polymerization of agarose after heating agarose suspended in some buffer solution"
This is the same definition as that given to "agarose gel".
I am taking the definitions, and using OBI from Bioportal. According to Bioportal this is "Version 2009-11-06 Philly (aka version 1.0) Release Candidate".
