That is absolutely correct Chris. This one and several other terms should be replaced with OGMS / Immunology Ontology terms instead of what is the IEDB centric modeling which we imported into OBI when we discarded a separate version of ONTIE.

How about if we import 'disease course' http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/OGMS\_0000022 from OGMS? I could not find an appropriate term for disease which included immune response. Would you like to relabel 'occurrence of disease' to indicate the dependency on immune response and make it a subclass of 'disease course'?

Discussed on April 23, 2012 dev call
replace it with OGMS:disease course, deprecated OBI one, but keep two subclasses
need to add logical definition of the term in OGMS Bjoern will bring this question in the coming IDO or immunology related workshop in July, 2012

The logical definition of 'occurrence of disease' http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/OBI\_1110002 has necessary conditions of: 'has participant' some (organism and ('has role' some 'host of immune response role')) realizes some 'host of immune response role'
Issue is that not all diseases have immune response for example metabolic diseases, sickle cell disease, etc. Proposal is to have a more general 'occurrence of disease' that 'realizes some disease' and create a subclass that has the additional restrictions pertaining to immune response role.
