Can someone explain what DNA replication timing is? Maybe an example of a paper that uses the assay? I would not know from the definition what is being done, probably because this isn't my field of expertise.

Here are two examples provided by Venkat.
1. Repli-chip assay (Replication Timing by array assay) An assay to quantifying DNA replication time using array technology Ref: Hiranti et al. Global reorganization of replication domains during embryonic stem cell differentiation. PLoS Biol. 2008 October 7;6(10):e245 [PMID:18842067]
2. Repli-seq assay (Replication Timing by sequencing assay) An assay to quantifying DNA replication time as a function of genome position based on genome-wide sequencing Ref:Hansen et al. Sequencing newly replicated DNA reveals widespread plasticity in human replication timing. Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2010 January 5; 107(1): 139–144. [PMID:19966280]

Add new term for DNA replication timing assay:
term: nucleotide replication profiling feature identification objective parent: molecular feature identification objective description: A molecular feature identification objective that aims to identify features of nucleotide replication
