Animations #17

Everything feels very fast & not smooth. We should add some animations to smooth things out.

Regarding scope/implementation:

  • I think we should use View Transitions https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/View_Transitions_API first and foremost. It's only supported in Chrome ATM but it's the path forward
  • Swup.js https://swup.js.org seems like a good option to allow us to support view transitions but fallback to custom js when needed. I do however want to minimize dependence on javascript for animations
  • CSS first, add JS later
  • The animations shouldn't feel over the top, but more just a natural extension of the current app
