I added aboulia with definition: Poverty of behavior and speech output, lack of initiative, loss of emotional responses, psychomotor slowing, and prolonged speech latency. Based on pmid:16030444, I groups this, apathy, and akinetic mutism under "diminished motivation", now defined as A reduction in goal-directed behavior, that is, motivation, the determinant of behavior and adaptation that allows individuals to get started, be energized to perform a sustained and directed action.

Should "abulia" (alternate spelling: aboulia" be added to the HPO?
Definitions: abnormal lack of ability to act or to make decisions; an absence of willpower or an inability to act decisively
Can be observed in the context of psychiatric disorders or conditions leading to frontal lobe impairment (stroke, dementia, etc).
I was considering if this term would be considered a synonym of "lack of motivation" but I'm not certain that's a perfect fit. Lack of motivation is a subterm of "abnormal emotion/affect behaviour" and abulia doesn't necessarily stem from emotion/affect abnormalities. Do you agree with this distinction? If so, perhaps the best fit for this term would be under "Behavioral/Psychiatric abnormalities"
Sincerely, Heather
