I am not sure it makes sense to have this term, since the alpha, beta, gamma globulins in serum are not really related to each other in terms of functionality. What is the use case? I also do not think they are measured together and wonder if this is a legacy term from LOINC?
Hi @pnrobinson , It looks like it Globulin test is still in used. I found here that globlulin test are used for diagnoses of Liver damage or disease, Kidney disease, Nutritional problems, Autoimmune disorders, certain types of cancer. Globulin test are preformed by Serum Protein Electrophoresis or Total Protein test (Albumin/Globulin ration)
Also related, I found one inconsistency on the "Increased antibody level in blood HP:0010702" , "Increased of alpha-globulin HP:0005413" is a child of this term but alpha-globulin are not antibodies see here for the MEsh hierarchy
fixed the alpha-globulin mistake
Adding Abnormal circulating globulin level as HP_0032179
