People seem to look at subtypes: https://www.omim.org/entry/616941 "Laboratory studies showed severely decreased levels of serum immunoglobulins and less than 3% of CD19+ circulating B cells. The B cells showed high-intensity expression of CD19, but absence of the B-cell receptor (BCR)."

They seem to use the profile of various antigens as a biochemical fingerprint in immune diseases.
