good analysis, I agree with the course of action
Thank you for submitting this ticket, I will give a 2 week notice in slack and if nobody is against it, I will proceed to merge leaflet and cusp for each valve. Since tricuspid valves and biscupid valve (atrial valve) receive the name after the number of cusps they contain, I would suggest 'cusp' terms as the winning terms. Do you agree, @sbello?

Uberon term cardiac valve leaflet (UBERON:0011741) (from EMAPA and MA, no definition) cusp of cardiac valve (UBERON:0006009) (from FMA and NCIT, has definition) plus the child terms of these
Reason for deprecation There is no clear distinction between valve leaflet and cusp in UBERON or in most sources.
Sources using these terms interchangeably
A few sources make a distinction between cusps and leaflets, with atrioventricular (AV) valves having leaflets and semilunar (SL) valves having cusps
Currently Uberon has cusp and leaflet terms for:
In the case of the tricuspid valve tricuspid valve cusp is a child of tricuspid valve leaflet
Suggested replacement or term to consider My preference is to merge the leaflet and cusp terms into a single term per valve. The merged term would become an exact sibling of the other.
