ext: obsolete "fake generalization" terms from TAO uplift #48

Closed cmungall closed 11 years ago

cmungall commented 12 years ago

Many classes in the UBERON:2xxxx range in ext were cloned from ZFA, never used for annotation in phenoscape, and are unlikely to be used for annotation. In particular various obscure neural nuclei that may have only ever been observed in zebrafish.

These should be obsoleted with consider/replace to ZFA.

If it helps, could add annotation assertion to candidates for deletions that would be reviewed by you manually.

yep this sounds good. some of those nuclei are more general than teleosts, other are very zebrafish specific. How would you identify them (other than not being used for annotation or skeletal)?

I thnk we're in better shape. When you think the bulk is done, keep this issue open and remove from milestone

I'm closing this now. We will still need to "re-re-generalize" many of the classes that are currently tagged as from TAO, but this will be a long term ongoing project that we can break down by anatomical system (e.g. neuroanatomy)
