We don't really have an end-point for neonate defined, but this would set an end point, at least for mammals (is neonate applicable to non-mammals? it's certainly simpler if we define this whole subset for mammals only)
Hello Uberon team! (or @cmungall if still possible)
trying to map HPO to HsapDv, it appears that maybe
UBERON:0034920 infant stage
should have a relaxed definition for human, based on the ethymology of the word (infant), meaning not speaking, see HP:0003593 (Infantile onset) and see Peter Robinson's comment [[HPO:probinson] at https://github.com/obophenotype/human-phenotype-ontology/issues/5119#issuecomment-578882539.
So instead of
[Term] id: UBERON:0034920 name: infant stage namespace: uberon def: "Nursing stage that follows the neonate stage in mammals and ends at weaning." [Bgee:AN, https://github.com/obophenotype/uberon/issues/644]
, we could have
def: "Nursing stage that follows the neonate stage in mammals and ends at weaning, or at language acquisition for human." [Bgee:AN, https://github.com/obophenotype/uberon/issues/644]
Do you agree? Any comments?
Thank you
Anne
