Modelling seizure

This is a placeholder ticket that needs to be fleshed out carefully.

The current idea is to revisit the idea of using MPATH to creating a hierarchy of pathological processes and entities such as seizure (see here a debate on whether MPATH is suitable taxon scope wise).

• [ ] Include approaching Paul about opening MPath up to more community curation ticket (once we know what we want).

• We have permanently removed NBO seizures from HPO obophenotype/human-phenotype-ontology#7256, see also issue

• But seizures occur in many species and the underlying molecular mechanisms may be preserved e.g. see shaker mutant in flies (although DPO doesn't record this!)

• How can we record across species?

Discussion

• MP, HP, Fly all have phenotypes for this, ZFIN has seizure models but no way to record this

• ZFIN typically records the behavioral change for seizure models

• @dosumis: Should this be in UPheno? How would we maintain this

• Complexity of the phenotype makes it hard to model with an EQ

• Probably needs to be taken up in a longer meeting in the context of pathological entities and behaviors

• Currently, we are pushing everything into PATO (lesioned, neoplastic, etc)

• [ ] Homework - review MPath to see if this will work
