Adding a marker or flag for "subitems" (like due, priority, ...) could indeed provide users with a clear indication of their importance or relevance. By allowing users to designate certain tasks as subtasks and flagging them accordingly, they can better organize and prioritize their workflow. This approach empowers users to customize their task management system according to their needs and preferences, enhancing the overall usability of the platform.
We need to get a concrete understanding of what is requested, and the best way to do that is via examples. And the best time to do that is when the proposal is made.

Reading about the limitations of displaying subtasks and the related discussions (e.g., this one and this one), I am considering how to address them.
Displaying sub-items with the same indent may not be the cleanest solution. Instead, users could be notified that there are important subtasks and provided with a backlink to view them.
