i'm not sure that this bug can be fixed, but it seems that all gems both custom and from Kagic itself have this issue. the flickering doesn't bother me personally, but it may prove to be an issue for people who have seizure problems.

This probably can't be fixed. It has to do with the texture layers. Now, if somebody were to sit down and make separate textures so that no fighting could occur, I could probably code it to use the right texture for each case. But someone would have to sit and manually punch holes in skin textures for the gem textures, same for the hair, etc... and I ain't doin' it.
