I second this. It's also not very convenient to have to log into microsoft each time you want to import.
I'm still using OneNote 2016 which allows me to store the files offline, locally on my machine, which I do. I don't want to upload my files to Microsofts servers just for the sake of importing it to Obisidan from there. For me, this is an overall privacy issue not just for me but for society. If we want to get independent from proprietary providers, we should cut off all dependencies :-).
So I would really love to see this feature implemented, to import OneNote files from local machine.
I see the mentioned bug squash bounty but it doesn't seem to mention importing from files for OneNote. Am I missing something or is this functionality not planned?

files in the original OneNote issue #11.

Thank you, I'll read the info from the link. I'f I'm able to do anything, it will go to the project.
Often in corporate networks third party plugins are blocked & it is not possible for a plugin to connect Microsoft account.
In such scenarios it would be helpful to have the ability to import OneNote notes directly through exported OneNote files.
