Is it fine to name it ofs-stepping? Or there is a preciser word to name it?

I have no idea what the phrase means so I don't know. I doubt it's that important to get it precise though.

'ofs' is an abbreviation for 'offset', which is spread over the source code.

Yeah, let's merge and release it.
