The build failed on opensuse, but it does not look like a failure due to my changes, since it uses the depext before this PR to install packages:

Unknown option '--non-interactive'

Any input on this? I would also like to work on specifying the flags via commandline but would like to have this merged first so I don't conflict with my own PR.
