Could you give a look to the configuration of Spacemacs ? I wrote a new page on the Merlin Wiki https://github.com/the-lambda-church/merlin/wiki/spacemacs-from-scratch
After doing 2 very small changes in the ~/.spacemacs file (suppressing ';;' and adding a line with 'ocaml') you get the same configuration as Emacs (with Merlin, ocp-indent, utop, tuareg, company-mode, all fully operational)
It's really worth it !
