It's a problem with how the altar handles recipes, but you can (and should, just in case you die!) keep a backup book at home, which you can use to copy glyphs over to other books
How do you copy them? There's nothing in the Ars notebook about it.

Just use the scribe's table to enscribe a book as you would any of the other things that go on the table
Wow, this would be a very helpful thing to have on the Worn Notebook page for the Tome of Blood. I had no idea you could do that with the scribe's table. It sounds like that's a vanilla ars capability, but it's one that has an extremely valuable use to Tome of Blood specifically, so I at least would have found it really helpful if it were mentioned there.
I have all of the tier 1 and tier 2 glyphs unlocked. Then I made the tome of the novice bloodmage, and it only has the default glyphs that you start with. So I remade all the tier 1 glyphs.
Then I upgrade to the tier 2 blood mage tome, and all of the glyphs are gone, except for the starting ones.
