Would you guys consider moving to git to make forking easier?

We can't change over to git for this code base no, but git has greate support 
for importing from and syncing with remote SVN repositories, so you should have 
no problem using git yourself.

There have not been any significant changes recently, but we still actively 
maintain and use this code base, yes. Patches and bugs are considered when 
submitted, but the bulk is currently just answering issues on the mailing list 
- if you have more questions or would like to announce your git fork, I'd 
appreciate if you did it there.
