This is REQUIRED to be shown to not break the MUG, confirmed my staff in Gamersafe and ip_justice (mojang enforcement employee) image the MUG rule being broken https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/usage-guidelines#commercial

Correct, if you wish to be MUG compliant you will have to disable that option.

I'm not sure if there was a disconnect somewhere, but this has always been defaulting to true in FreedomChat. The feature however was missing in the last few updates, and was just added back (still defaulting to true as it always has been).

Not opposed to potentially changing it, but this needs to be discussed more instead of just throwing up a low effort PR to change it right away. I welcome you to create an issue instead so that the community can make a decision for themselves. If it ends up making sense, we will make this change ourselves.
