We could turn desktops into SLURM compute nodes pretty easily by adding the ocf_hpc::compute Puppet class to them.
Right now, since they're on 24/7 running Folding@Home, and nobody's using them in person, there wouldn't be any issues with operating hours or them going into suspend suddenly.
For normal lab operation though we'd have to run them at night. If we don't want them sitting idle and on all night, we could possibly leverage the power saving feature of SLURM to have them go into suspend, then wake-on-LAN when a job comes in.
