Visualize trajectories #23

I have made a folder for everything PARCELS at: /projectsa/CME/3DCaribbeanNEMO/PARCELS There are duplicates of PARCELS related files from /CollabVG and some simple visualization scripts in both python (.py) and matlab (.m).

Val: This are very simple and generic script so can be easily adapted to plot LTRANS output which is also netCDF files.

There is also a SanityCheckParcelsOutput.py it just tells you if and how many particles PARCELS stoped tracking for any reason.

There are two runs, with uniform seeds tracked for a month here: /projectsa/CME/3DCaribbeanNEMO/PARCELS/UnifEXP TSunif2kmT1.nc (with 25h velocity fields) TSunif2km1h.nc (with hourly velocity fields) A) It will be great to see if there are significant differences, its many particles, so maybe plotting every 100 of 1000 and overlapping the trajectories with 2 different colors.

B) It will be good to know how far the particles that start east of the Caribbean Arch islands reach after a month, to define how long the Sargasso runs needs to be. Maybe just plot the end locations of those.

C) Maybe a nice plot can be generated out of this... like find the trajectories around the locations identified by the stakeholder (see Judith emails) and plot only those trajectories coloured by age (time in the water).
