Some VST Plugins not Working

Problem:
ABox hosting support for VST 'plugins' has become out of date 
-- there has been mention of plugins not working in ABox and 
possibly crashing the program.

Recommend:

*Little is known about this problem. In order to duplicate the 
 problem, more information about which plugins fail is needed.

*In previous ABox development, great effort was put into hosting 
 plugin user interfaces in a manner constant with ABox's popup 
 panel behavior. It may be the case that the VST user interface 
 panel will need to be redeveloped to follow different UI behavior 
 guidelines. Alternately, it may be simpler to work together with 
 plugin developers in order to affect a simple solution.

An additional/more specific VST issue:

In abox2.40, VST parameters that are not exposed 
to the host don't seem to get saved. I've seen this 
behaviour in several plugins with more sophisticated 
GUIs, e.g. D16's Phoscyon, Sonicbytes' phrazor and 
a little freeware thing called stepchild. 

To reproduce the behaviour, do the following:
1. Download e.g. stepchild from 
http://www.gersic.com/plugins/hosted/subminimal/
2. Register it in abox2, load it and open the vst GUI
3. Mark a few squares on the sequencer grid
4. Save and reload the abox2 project
5. Open the vst GUI and notice how the marked 
positions did not get saved.
