Not degrading gracefully in Safari 1 #63

Greetings!

I am having tons of fun with this slideshow, but all my site's visitors who
are using older versions of Safari aren't.

I wouldn't mind if the slideshow would degrade gracefully, but it doesn't -
instead, the slideshow images don't slide to the thumbnail anchors when
thumbnails are pressed, making it impossible to see all but the first image
in the slideshow. It seems like old versions of Safari don't understand how
to slide in-page elements to line them up with anchors.

The only solution I can think of involves writing a whole new slideshow
based on iFrames that is only used when browser sniffing returns positive
for certain webkit versions, but I am hoping that someone has some more
elegant suggestions.

Happy Coding,

-Aubrey

P.S. Here's a sample slideshow on my site: http://safarri.com/ad-609

Thank you Aubrey,

Unfortunately Mootools is only compatible with Safari 2 and newer. However since
Safari 3 has been around since 2007 and with Safari 4 around the corner (and
since
the iPhone/iPod/Android all use the equivalent of the newer versions) I wouldn't
worry about it too much ;)
