Kerning/Spacing was changed by @octaviopardo and AFAIKS it’s better now. Ligatures fall in the category features to be revised.

Yes it looks better in most cases indeed. Will try to do a close comparison/check when I have time.

I guessed as much after your previous post. ;)
The f ligatures seems to be implemented as discretionary ligatures instead of "standard ligatures". Also, the "long tail capital Q" is now implemented as swash instead of standard ligature as before and this is a problem, specially with italics where there are many swashes. I really like the Qu ligature, but I'm not a fan of swashes ;)
It won't stay this way, the original behaviour will be more or less restored.

Thanks for all your work and the update. Unfortunately ligatures are still broken for me in LibreOffice v5.4.0.3 (with v0.8 of your fonts). Can anybody confirm this? Because strangly it seems to be fine in OpenOffice 4.1.3. Any other font with ligatures shows them by default – including the original version of EB Garamond. (And even italics of v.0.8)
Plus I'm all for restoring the original grouping of ligatures.
From your captures it seems that italic ligatures are working, but not regular ones. And I’m not sure about fh
, fk
and fb
(+ ff
versions) behaviours.
The fi ligature is working for me in XeLaTeX. Maybe that’s an LO issue then?
On a side note, spacing/kerning seems much better now. The 1
have been fixed too apparently, so for my use case this version is now excellent. :)
So I’ve compiled a .tex doc of mine, and comparing it to the previous version (with @georgd releases), there seems to have been some kerning/spacing changes (but maybe that’s a XeLaTeX thing), but most important is that the fi ligature is broken (and I guess others are too, can test later).
