When using Statamic {{ xml_header }} tag in templates it gets removed.

Jason have you gotten any response on this? We're finding that the xmlns attribute is being stripped out of our sitemap xml file.. so it may be related...

I just removed this add-on, and problem solved. I think the value of minified HTML is minuscule, so for me wasn't worth the time.
