Construction of *.rst bibliography from *.bib

In docs/source/ the bibliography is generated from the bibliography.rst file. We need to either:

1. generate a .rst from the bibliography file automatically as part of document build (preferred)
2. generate a .rst from the bibliography file using a third party tool like mendeley to manage the conversion, and get rid of the .bib file to avoid ambiguity.
3. generate a .rst manually (worst nightmare).

If automatable, do so in travis.
