I think the deployer still doesn't have BuildKit enabled, see https://github.com/ocurrent/ocurrent-deployer/issues/236.

Yes, I have running my version of this against a patched version of the deployer. I'll share the link with you out of band.

I think we should revert this PR to the original form and open a new one to investigate the potential benefit of this type of caching. @cuihtlauac may also be interested in this for potential improvement to the build time of ocaml.org.
