The documentation should include the requirements to use the barcode scanner. You need to first install zxing's https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.zxing.client.android&hl=en&gl=US

It's not required like OI File Manager to run, but if you decide to use a barcode prompt in Survey it will be needed for the prompt to function.
