\prefacesection removes the indent from the first paragraph of the acknowledgment #31

Why do \prefacesection remove the indent from the first paragraph? Is this done on purpose?

I tried \indent but I believe that the command \prefacesection makes the former command useless.

That's really a matter of style. Some style guides prefer first paragraph of each section without indentation.
