I think Github also supports .rst README files, but I wasn't able to find a way to preview the result before committing. But there are plenty of github-markdown-flavour previewers available, so that's what I chose for now.

please add the Dockerfile in docker.git, reason being we will trigger automatic Docker hub image updates from there some time in the future :)

.rst is great, means we can just press "view" in the PR directly and inspect it
